Meet the MODE VITAL Photographers

Photographers Mike Barrett and Graham Binns. A couple of the nicest chaps you’re likely to meet.

Graham and Mike are both completely down to earth and they both love their photography. You can see their work here. They are approachable, friendly and keen for you to get the most out of your photography.

Mike and Graham have been great friends for many years and have shared a passion for photography for some time. Both of them pretty much spot the same thing at the same time and regularly finish each others sentences when it comes to the discussion of good practice, settings, composition and pretty much all things photographic.
Mike Barrett BA (Hons)

Mike has been a professional photographer for over 14 years working with a wide selection of clients. His initial love in photography was for candid and reportage styled shots focusing very much on the human condition and capturing the essence of what it is to be alive in the modern day. He still loves this kind of work and is skilled in capturing those particular moments, moods or idiosyncrasies as they present themselves. Focusing on Family Shoots, Wedding Photography, Event and Street Photography, Studio Portrait work and images for use in graphics and fine art prints. Mike has built up an extensive portfolio of work over the years which is being added to constantly.

Over the last few years his work has incorporated a lot more Landscape Photography. A passion that takes him far and wide in order to get the desired shots. “If you want to get the shot, you have got to get up in the morning” he can often be heard saying. Mike doesn’t like to sit still for long and if there is an opportunity to get up, outdoors, to visit a new location and get a shot that he hasn’t got before, then he’s the first one out the door. He runs his own YouTube Channel on Photography and never leaves home without his kit.
Graham Binns

Graham is a multi award winning photographer with a true passion for landscapes. He loves to be among the elements waiting for that perfect photo. The light, the clouds and the forever changing weather. This is where Graham is most at home and this is reflected in the imagery that he captures. Graham loves location scouting around the country to plan and then return when the conditions see fit for photographic purposes.

Graham shoots digital as well as on film, 135mm and 120 medium format with cameras nearly 40 years old. Graham will rarely leave the house without some form of camera on him whether that be his full photographic kit or an a recent analogue camera purchase with a new roll of film to test.

For the past two years Graham has been among the few selected for the prestigious Yorkshire Photographic Union annual exhibition out of thousands of entrants, this year he had a total 3 images selected to be among the final 200 strong exhibition.
2018 also saw him selected for the photographic alliance of Great Britain with one of his images taken from his recent Scotland trip. He has also won photographer / image of the year at photographic club level for the past two years.
