This is a brilliant 6 people workshop if you are just starting out in photography and have a keen interest in landscape photography.  Unlock the potential of your SLR, DSLR or Bridge camera in the beautiful lake district. Whether you a total beginner and only ever shoot in auto mode or you already have some experience, we will help you get the most out of your camera. During the day you will visit several beautiful locations and have the guidance of two experienced photography instructors with a maximum of only 6 students in total. This course is great if you want to visit several lake district locations whilst learning the photographic techniques to capture the scene in front of you.

This course has everything from tarns to lakes, still water to flowing water. Also the odd jetty thrown in!

This course will have you learning about your camera controls and understanding aperture, ISO and shutter speed (The Exposure Triangle). How these 3 settings play a factor in every photo, how to control them and work with them to develop your photography skills.

If you would you like to get a good sense of what your camera can do and how you can get the best out of the kit that you have in a very beautiful part of the Lake District then this workshop is ideal. Improve your skill set and learn how to spot good compositions. Fill your lungs with the fabulous country air and get the shots that stir you soul.

The course is based around the Little Langdale area in the Lake District. You will be working in an area of beauty but where the conditions can change suddenly. Changing light, low clouds, wind, mist, grand vistas, flowing and still water are all here to work with and use to our advantage whilst learning the capabilities of your camera, lenses and kit. Throughout the course we will help you understand your photography and when and where to use it such as which lens, shutter speed, ISO and aperture.

The area this course is set in also lends itself to polarised and ND graduated filters so this is the ideal course to use some new filters. Don’t worry if you don’t have filters, you can use our filters if you don’t have any but prior notice will be required including which lenses you have so we can bring the correct filter ring adaptors. We use a range of filters but predominately use the professional Lee filter system.

There will be some hill walking involved during the course but most of the locations are very accessible. Photographic interests on this course are in abundance and you will come away with not only the knowledge but such a variety of shots to take home with you and be proud of your new skill set.

The course is very much aimed at beginners but enthusiastic photographers with experience are all welcome and we will cater for all needs. The area is perfect for aspiring landscape photographers due to the location of this course and the every changing surroundings. We aim to have you working in ‘manual mode’ for most of the course as well as learning what other settings on your camera can do. The course is ideal for total beginners or those wanting to progress further from beginner level.
