What workshops do Mode Vital offer?

We have a variety of photography workshops that can be found HERE.

Is there a minimum age?

The minimum age is 18 to attend any of our photography workshops. Under 18’s can still attend if accompanied by an adult.

I’m a beginner, which workshop should I attend?

We can help advise on which workshops are most suitable for your ability by contacting Mode Vital at info@modevital.com. If you are a total beginner, then our ‘Leave Auto Behind’ workshop is a brilliant way to start.

I’m a keen amateur and been taking photos for a good few years, should I attend?

If you still find yourself switching to auto, struggle to find composition or would just like to get out and about with other photographers and learn a thing or two then absolutely yes.

What camera do I need?

A digital camera with the ability to adjust the settings in manual mode is ideal. When we talk about changing settings, we will be changing ISO, aperture and shutter speed. We can recommend a few cameras HERE aimed at different levels of ability.

I’ve just got my camera and know nothing about it, can I still attend a workshop?

Yes! That’s what we are here for. Whether you have a new camera or ‘new to you’ camera, we can show you how to use all your equipment.

I don’t have a camera yet, can I still attend the workshop?

Yes. We offer a rental service at a minimal cost. We have a range of cameras, lenses, tripods and filters all to use on the workshops. If you do need to borrow equipment we will require 7 days prior notice before the workshop date in order to secure the equipment.

What camera do you recommend buying?

The camera that feels the most comfortable to use and within your budget is always a good way to start. Then you can have a look at what type of photography interests you, such as portrait, sports or landscape etc. This can have a deciding factor on the type of kit to purchase. We have a useful list HERE.

What do I need to bring to the workshop?

We have compiled a useful list HERE.

Why should I choose a Mode Vital photography workshop?

Small groups, hands on tuition with two experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic photography instructors. We are friendly and approachable with many years teaching experience on top of our photographic expertise.

Can this course help me to start a career in photography?

Being a photographer can be hard but it can also be a very rewarding career path. Many photographers will go down one route or another, whether it be studio work, wedding photography or specialise in landscapes to name a few.

We at Mode Vital enjoy all aspects of photography and love all the different places photography takes us. Whether it’s a model photo shoot or a landscape photography tour. Being versatile and adapting to a client’s needs can often be the deciding factor to success. This coupled with a portfolio of your work that the client admires. Our workshops are all aimed at increasing your level of ability in photography.

What happens in inclement weather?

If the weather makes aspect of the course unsafe then the course will be cancelled. The changing weather can often be a desirable factor to a landscape photographer and capturing the atmosphere in the changing weather can sometimes be the most rewarding thing about the shoot. Some of our courses are aimed at total beginners, so these courses may be cancelled if we feel that the weather will be more a hindrance than a help. However, our landscape based photograph workshops for the more discerning photographer will still go ahead if the conditions are still deemed suitable.

Is there support for people with a disability?

Some of our workshops can be demanding. If you have any concerns or questions regarding specific workshops, please contact Mode Vital with your queries and we will get back to you regarding accessibility and any other aspects of the workshop experience.

What if I don’t like learning in a group?

We offer a bespoke 2 to 1 course where you get both Mode Vital instructors to guide you on any of our workshops. Please enquire for more details.

When should I book?

Dates are offered throughout the year but our workshops fill up quickly with only small group sizes. To avoid disappointment we recommend that you book your desired course asap to avoid disappointment.

If I cannot make it to the workshop dates, can I reschedule my dates or get a refund?

If you need to amend your course date/s, this is possible but you must inform Mode Vital 28 days prior to the course start date. You will be given a choice of upcoming course dates to amend your original booking to.
If you need to cancel a workshop, Mode Vital will retain 50% of the course fee. See our Terms of Service page.
